Marquant is a company renowned for producing reliable car entertainment sets. The superior product designs have become a landmark in terms of functionality for everyday use. The Marquant MCD-17 Portab is a portable DVD player with the main attraction being the 7-inch main screens. The DVD player is compatible with several file formats and has SD card and USB ports for multimedia support that are built in. This portable DVD player can not only run the commonly used media formats like CDs and DVDs but also provides the alternatives to run music, video or images. The corresponding file formats supported for these being MP3, MPEG4 and JPEG. The main screen also acts as an alternate power supply for other seven-inch screen. It can transmit image and sound signals.
Both the screens are mounted by using headrest straps that come with the DVD player. This ensures a superior quality movie watching for the back seat passengers. The Marquant MCD-17 operates directly and simply due to the remote control and OSD menu. This high quality car entertainment set comes with a couple of power supplies, which enable power through regular sockets and through the cigarette lighter adapter. A rechargeable battery is used in the main screen display that guarantees total independence from any external power source. However, a synchronized operation of both screens is possible only with two separate power cords going through the 12 V cigarette lighter adapter. A normal socket adapter can be used for a single screen only. This bypassing the 12 V cigarette lighter adapter allows a simultaneous use of the two screens. You also need to charge the main screen battery to power the second screen as well.
Another main strength of the DVD player is the two LCD screens having anti-reflective properties. These two screens also provide great viewing angles. The portable DVD player comes with the required headrest mounting including the belt. Other features included are built in speakers for the screens, AB sequence repeat etc. The size of the unit is 20 x 4 x 16 cm and it weighs approximately 1 kg. The opportunity to use power supply in two different ways and the provision for the headrest mounting in the form of the belt add value to this DVD player. These together with the twin 7-inch LCD screens providing wide viewing angles make the DVD player worth the money.
