If you are planning a long road trip with the kids or bunch of your friends, they will simply love you if you have an in-car DVD. Staring at the scenery gets boring after a while and what better way to keep your backseat passengers entertained than a 14’’ monitor? The UK leading non-food retailer Halfords, which operates more than 450 stores, has experienced more than 20% increase on in-car DVD players on a year to year basis. And if you take into account that this has happened while the economy is still fragile and just starting to recover, then clearly a trend is present. It looks like most consumers aren’t that excited any more about the latest smart phone, MP3 player or TV model, but the in-car DVDs might soon become the norm rather than the exception. This, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by the car manufacturers and some of the latest vehicles have a pair of screens, mounted on the roof or the headrests of the front seats, as a standard feature.
The prices at Halfords start from £89.99 for certain in-car DVD players with 7’’ screens and some of the twin-screen models, like the Netbase Click 7” DVD Player, are extremely popular. From the in-car DVD accessories, you will find wireless headphones for £14.99 and a headset mount for only £9.99.
