If your DVD player doesn't work, you may want to try manually fix it. DVD players use a specific type of digital technology, before you use your guarantee or go to specialist try to fix it yourself first. The steps below represent the most common problems with DVD players.
1.
Restart the DVD player or switch it off and on again. Make sure you try with few dvd discs. Some disc cannot be readable even if they are new. This could fix the problem easily.

If the power in your DVD player works and you have only problems with some discs try to use special cleaning disc. They are available in most of the computer / electronics shops.

Check your connections. Dual DVD players have areas for more than one type of cable, and disconnected component, HDMI, audio, or S-Video cables may cause your player to function incorrectly.

Toggle player options. Some advanced DVD players have options that include screen display, preferred language, and even auto-play options. Try switching some of these options to see if you can produce the desired function from your DVD/CD player. If none of the settings help try restart the settings to default / factory settings.
5.
Stuck DVD. If you think that DVD stuck in the Player try to use special manual button which can be pushed so the disc can be released.
If none of the above helps, do not try to open the dvd player because you may loose your guarantee.
